When
we arrive at the airport, the best for you is to take the « Air
France » bus that brings you to « The Arc de Triomphe »
in the center of Paris. From there, you can either take the
subway RATP to
the « Charles de Gaulle » station or take a taxi
to your final destination in Paris.

The

on the subway and the bus. You can buy it for a week (hebdomadaire),
from Monday through Sunday (16.80€ zone 1-2) or for a month ( 55.10€
zone 1-2), valid from the 1st day until the end of the
month (bring an identification photo with you when you buy the pass).
This is how
to request the pass at the ticket window:
"Bonjour,
je voudrais une carte Navigo et un ticket hebdomadaire pour Paris
(ou pour le mois) et un plan de paris, s'il vous plait".
If you are staying
in the suburbs (outside of Paris), you will have to buy a pass with
zone 3 or 4 or 5. This will cost more.
Living
in Paris
If you are studying
French in a language school, the school will offer you several types
of housing:
-A host family:
for short stays in France, this is the best option.Nevertheless, you must be aware that living with a host family
is not always easy and all families (even if they are selected by
the language school) are not the same. This is the best way
to speak French.
-A hotel:
very expensive and you are all alone.
-A furnished apartment
in Paris: difficult to find an apartment for short stays (less
than 6 months), and you should expect to pay at least 500 – 600€
per month for a 15m2 room.Often in France, you
will be asked to leave a deposit of 2 or 3 month's rent as a security
fee. It is inconvenient, and you will feel all alone and have
nobody with whom you can speak French.
